Jumping Vista Mail

Every time there is a new newsgroup in my list, I get notified, fair enough.
I view what they are and then click OK and then Vista jumps out of the
newsgroup I had clicked to enter and back to the list of newsgroups, losing
all mail I had to read there. Any way to stop it jumping back out? OE never
did this as a news reader.

Who in the HELL decided to do that crap? Honestly, it must have been someone
with no conception of how people read newsgroups.
