JPEG Batch Re-sizer ???

L

Leo R.

Hello All,
Is there such a thing as a Freeware utility to re-size .jpg files in batches
or by doing a directory all at the same time?
I have thousands of photo files I wish to downsize and am not looking
forward to doing them one at a time.
TIA

Hi Wald,
I know Irfanview does a Batch Rename, but can't see how it does a Batch
Re-size.
Could you please explain how it does this?

If you use WinXP, use the re-sizing Power Toy. Select all pics, right-click,
and re-size.

FastStone Image Viewer has very good batch operations too.

Mass resize of images. I work for a publishing company as my full-time
job, and we are always sending images all over the place. Sometimes we
have images that are just too big for e-mail, or we have a bunch of
scanned images that are too big for the screen and we need to resize
them. I suppose we could go in and fix each image manually, but who has
that much time? Resize! is an application that simply lets you choose a
folder and resize all the images in that specific folder. You can decide
whether you want to do proportional, box, or independent resizing. You
can also work in percentages or in pixels when resizing a folder of
images. I find this program to be most helpful at home when I have
scanned a bunch of pictures and need to decrease them all to about 25
percent of the size. With Resize! all I have to do is direct it to my
folder of scanned images, choose "independent resizing" and put in "25
percent". Now, I am left with a folder of perfectly resized images ready
for e-mail. Don't worry! Resize! doesn't overwrite the images in the
folder; instead, it makes a new folder and places the edited files in
that new folder.

Requires Quicktime 5.
