journaling office apps problem in Outlook 2003

I run outlook 2003 with office 97 applications. I have configured
outlook to journal office applications; however, it doesnt appear to
be workiing. The journaling of tasts for select contacts etc works
fine.

Any help would be apprecited.

Outlook and Office versions must match for a number of automation functions,
including Journal. Mail Merge and Send To from Office programs also do not
work.

Kinda funny, everyonce in a while it works.
