Journal_wrap Error; Win2k server SP4

P

Peter Hagen

It appears that I have a Journal Wrap error in a post SP4 domain controller.
(It seems that the volume filled up undetected and caused the error)
Every thing I see refers to SP3, but says that MS does not reccomend a
non-authoritative restore (e.g. Q292438 talks about the reg key to enable
automatic restore , but warns against it.)

Are there other recommendations?

TIA,
Peter

Right,
That's the one that says that MS doesn't recommend setting 'Enable journal
wrap automatic restore" in HKLM\system\CCS\services\ntfrs\parameters

It only mentions SP3

Once you hit journal_wrap you have to do a restore - the article that
Christoffer mentioned should fix your issue for you.

If you want to understand FRS download the FRS Monitoring Help File at the
following location:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/technologies/fileandprint/file/df
s/tshootfrs.mspx

For detailed information on your journal wrap issue, double-click on
ultrasound.chm to open it. Under the Contents tab, expand Troubleshooting
FRS, expand FRS Troubleshooting Topics and click on USN Journal Wrap.
