Journal Entries Doesn't Show Up

I want to record a journal entry for an entire category,
and have it show up in the corresponding contacts in that
category. I selected the category under the "new journal
entry" window, but it does not show up in the individual
contacts when I select "show" and "journal." Is there
something I'm missing, or is this just not possible?

Just not possible, at least not as you describe. You'd need to enter all the individual contacts from that category in the Contacts box.
