firewall any more in XP Home.I tried for weeks to fix
this, you are good! What I did was the first procedure I
did not have to do the later.(just uninstalled &
reinstalled the Network Card).
Reading all these posts on here I can see you are not a
lazy person & are well dedecated to your work, I know I
appreciate you being there, I hope Bill is also. Take

Greetings Carmine,
Usually reinstalling your network card (assuming you're
using a NIC with your optonline
service) can "force" this to work again. To do so,
click Start, All Programs, Accessories,
Communications, Network Connections, right-click your
network connection and choose Disable.
Next, click Start, right-click My Computer and choose
Properties. Choose the Hardware tab,
and then click the Device Manager button. Click the '+' next to Network adapters, then
right-click your network card, and choose Uninstall.
Then, after confirming to uninstall,
click the Action menu, and choose Scan for hardware
changes. Your network adapter should
then be reinstalled.
After this, reboot and see if there are any change. If
it still doesn't work, click Start,
then Run, then type the following:
netsh int ip reset reset.txt
and click OK.
You'll see a screen briefly, which will then disappear.
After this, restart once again and
