Jonathan Kay, Please help

The problem I am having is that after using my webcam for
a few minutes the webcam stops working and has to be
restarted. When I restart the webcam it works great for
the first few minutes then does the same thing again. So
after doing this a few times then it cause the Windows
error message to pop up saying it needs to close the
program. It does this every time I use it. I have tried
two different webcams and it does the same thing every
time. My friend and I both are using Windows XP and MSN
messenger 6. I am using a Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000.
Every thing is up to date on my computer. He never has
this problem when we are talking it is just on my end. We
onlny use the video part in our conversation and text
chat. Please can someone help me with this problem.

Greetings David,

Also take HT's idea that the problem is your USB power under advisement, however you may be
experiencing a lack of USB bandwidth. To check, unplug all your USB devices except the
camera and then try. If this solves the problem, you'll need a PCI USB card (won't bother
giving you links, etc. unless that's really the problem).

I am fairly sure this is not the problem because I have 6
usb 2.0 ports on my computer and nothing is plugged into
any of them except the webcam. I am pluging the webcam
straight into one of the ports I am not using any kind of
hub. I also don't run any open programs when using MSN
messenger 6. Any more suggestions?

Hi Jonathan,

I already have the latest drivers installed for
everything on my PC including the webcam. Is there any
way an old driver or something could be on my machine and
cause it to do this? If so where do I find them. Or maybe
something in the registry to cause this? I always
uninstall everything through the add/remove program in
the control panel and I don't know if maybe something was
left behind.

Hi David,

The only other thing I would suggest is a visit to
