Joining Win 2000 SMB domain

I just bought a new PC with Vista Business pre-installed. I would like to
join the domain, but I am experiencing problem. The error message is as
follows,
The join operation was not successful. This could be because an existing
computer account having name "PC1234" was previously created using a
different computer name, or contact your administrator to remove any stale
conflicting account. The error was:
Access is denied.

The server running on Windows 2000 Small Business Server OS. The user
account that we login with is the Administrator's. And we are very confident
that the computer name doesn't exist in my server. We tried many times, and
still we get the same error over and over again.

We also disabled UAC, and run the sysdm.cpl from command prompt. But these
don't help either.

We tried connecting to another server running Windows 2003 Small Business
Server, and succeeded. What could be the problem?

I tried using nslookup. The result is something like this,
Default Server: xxxxx.xxxx.com
Address: xxx.xxx.xx.x

This is the same as what I see when I run the command on other PCs that have
already successfully joined the domain.

Type in your domain name. Do you get an IP Address of one of your
Active Directory servers? Can you access the servers you get as a
response to the nslookup?

I typed in the domain name, it returned me the correct IP Address. I typed in
the server name followed by ".mydomainname", i.e.
("myservername.mydomainname"), it also returned the correct IP.
