What are the permissions required to join the win XP
machine to the Win NT domain
.

What exactly do you mean? To add a windows XP computer to
a Windows NT domain all that you need to do (while logged
in as local administrator) is right click on my computer
go to properties in the drop down menu, select "computer
name" go to change. Under "Member of" select domain and
fill in your domain name, then a authorization box will
come up and you will enter in an user acount with the
ability to add new computer accounts to the domain.

Greetings --

You must be logged into the WinXP Pro machine using an account
that has both local and domain administrative privileges.
