joining server from a trusted domain into current domain, what happens to cross-domain permissions?

I have two domains setup in a trust and I'm curious what would happen
in the following scenario.

Domain A has a file server that users from both domains access. I want
to join this server to Domain B and do away with domain A. Matching
accounts / groups are already setup across both domains. I have gone
into each of the shares on this server and added permissions for the
matching groups from Domain B.

What will happen to those permissions if I remove the server from
Domain A and join it to Domain B? I assume they should still be valid,
though I will have a lot of dead sids (from domain A) in a lot of my
folder permissions. Is this correct? Or will all the permissions get screwed up?

Thanks!

Hi,

From my experience the permisisons will be fine. The
unknown sids will still be in place, so you may need to
reapply the permissions to get rid of them.

The "real" permissions from domain B will still be in
place and work as they were configured prior to removing
from Domain A

I hope this helps
