Join XP Pro to Win2K AD with WMI script?

Is it possible to join an XP Professional machine to a Windows 2000 AD domain using a WMI script? I've checked the script center and tried using the script there to no avail. Does this script require the domain to be a Windows 2003 AD domain. I'd like to use the script so that I could then encode it to hide the passwords as opposed to using the netdom command in a batch file.

There is a JoinDomainOrWorkgroup method for the Win32_ComputerSystem object,
but it only works on Windows XP and above, and requires Windows Server 2003.

It looks like scripting out to NetDom.exe might be your best bet.
