join the domain

Hello,

i,ve a problem when i need to join the domain from
windows xp prof. PDC is a windows 2000.
I,ve an error: the following error occured attempting to
join the domain "domain.com": The specified server cannot
perform the requested operation

It isn't a first win xp computer in my domain, but sine
one week i hadn't posibilites to add new ones.
The configuration doesn't change. It,s strange to me.

Please help.

Is the server AD-domain called domain.com? Have you tried joining the
machine to domain domain (without the .com)? Does the XP obtain an IP and
DNS automatically from the DHCP-server? Are options 003, 006 and 015 set in
DHCP-server, Scope options?
