Yes the drive was tested and obviously worked as SR1 worked after
install. It was only after SR2 was installed that Windows would
reboot on startup. On a 160 gig drive all worked ok. A ghost image
of the 160 gig drive also wouldn't boot on the 200 or 250 gig drives.
The Motherboard INF file was the only file - driver installed. This
allows the motherboard chipsetto ralk to the OS properly.

Let's assume by "SR1", "Sr2", etc., you mean "SP1", "SP2"
(for Service Pack 1, Service Pack 2). The SP2 patch
is a big
hunk of code. Is the partition in the new hard drive
big enough
to fit it? Why were drivers required in your
installation of SP2?

SR1 , SR2 >> Is got to be service pack 1 ( SR1 ) and
service pack 2 ( SR2 ) John is this what you are refering
to ??? SR1 is service pack 1 , Yes or No ?? If this is
correct John , then you have it wrong because SR1 is not
service pack 1 , its SP1 not SR1 , do you understand ??
SP1 is the correct way for service pack 1

AM
if you can't determine that what I refered to as SR1
(service release #1)
is also called SP1 (service pack #1) there is no chance
that you can help
me with my more serious problem. Please go back into your
corner and play
with yourself. I will contact Maxtor.

Thanks John i'm sure most are going to be willing to help
you in the future >>> dude
