I have several laptops. Some use an ms vm with jit compiler. these are able
to sign on to my msn. The laptops msjvm that are using the latest java
product all fail to sign on (all other settings are the same.

Not really sure what you want to know. Are you compiling Java programs or
are you trying to access a site
on the web which uses applets? If the later msjvm should be fine if in fact
you have it installed. Otherwise you
need to install Sun's jvm:

When you say 'the latest Java product' that is probably a Sun Java - it
has not been possible to get the MS one from them for quite a long time
now because of the court order.
