Jetcomp for XP

Hi,

Does Jetcomp.exe utility work for database in Access XP? Any other utility
to compact for XP?

Access 2K and Access XP uses the same JET 4 database
engine. There re 2 versions of JETComp, 1 for JET 3 and 1
for JET 4. JetComp for JET 4 is the one you want.

Jetcomp for Jet 4.0 will optionally also do Jet 3.

There were early reports that the Jet 4.0 compact
method could not compact the Access project (as it
could with Access 97, where the Access Objects were
stored, more or less, as records in the Jet 3.5
database), so that you needed to use Access to
compact a database after making changes to forms/
reports. I would be interested to hear if that
has changed.
