Jerky video dvd play

Had a on-going problem with my new sony lap top ! can't
seam to be able to get my dvd player to work ? at first i
thought it was the drive it self, however, other play
back does the same anything with movement is not smooth ?
it always seam to be a little bit jumpy/jerky ?

Please help ! Albert G.
 
What else are you running in the background? Disable antivirus software for
the time you are watching the DVD and see if that helps.
