after downloading windows security update I have problems viewing some web
sites..in my own web site I have a file upload manager...when I click on a
file to view it I get this message "
If the file did not display, you must disable your popup manager, or enable
JavaScript in your browser. " I don't have a pop up program installed. it
also requests for my account name and password every time I try to click on
a file to view...I have also noticed that when I try to download a program
off a site the box that should pop up asking me to save the file or open the
file is now not showing up and the error I get is "a pop up window has been
blocked" any help would be very appreciated ..I am running windows
xp...internet explorer 6.0...and have downloaded all updates from windows
update

Steve,
"a pop up window has been blocked"
Since IE does NOT display that message you must have
a pop-up blocker installed, or a Toolbar (BHO) that is doing that.

Check your anti-virus program and firewall for an option to block popups or
scripts.
