I have www.weather.com set as my home page, customized for
my home Zip code. When I open the page, I can never switch
between the Fahrenheit and Celsius readings of the weather
prediction: There is a line at the bottom of the page that
says "Please enable JavaScript in your browser to switch
the measurements on this page from English to Metric
Units," with a button next to it waiting to be checked. I
cannot check that button (I click on it, and nothing
happens.)

How do I enable JavaScript in my browser?

Check you Security settings.

You might want to refresh your scripting engine:

or
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/downloads/list/webdev.asp
Windows Script 5.6 for Windows 2000 and XP

Sometimes there's a corrupt file in the cache and one must go to Tools |
Internet Options and click Delete Files.
