A question about Hotmail but which is probaboy IE 6 related:

For some reason, links in messages calling up javascript no longer work in
the browser. Anyone any ideas? Security settings? But which?

I have recently installed Windows Service Pack 2 but I think it started
before that.

Whoops............think i gettin the hang of this. Mike I've got the same problem any links in emails won't go nowhere, infuriating! I've tried resorting internet settings everthing i can think of. Only seems to affect my account. Hope we both can get this sorted niggly things like this really annoy me....or the fact i don't no wat 2 do! Thanks.

If you're using IE6's SP2 popup blocker or any other ad blocker, try
adjusting the settings. I had the same problem with Hotmail and found that
it was caused by 'Proxomitron', an ad blocker that I've been using. Once I
told Proxo to ignore the site, the problem was solved.

Soz Gil just tried that............didn't work. Had been working OK after I had d/loaded SP2 this is wats annoying not know wats changed! Thanks anyway Rossi xx

I have now turned off pop-up window blocking in Norton Internet Security and
that has cured the problem. I would rather have just confined this action to
Hotmail but having tried all sorts of web site addresses and html strings in
the area of Norton that allows this, without sucess, I am stuck with pop-ups
I suppose. Must travel to a Norton newsgroup for more help.

Rossi.......
I too have turned off my Norton pop up blocker & it's worked. But why shud
it work one day then not the next thats wats annoys me. Thanks for all your
help.

XPsp2 has a new command which isn't as good as IE Repair
but better than nothing and more comprehensive than all the separate
regsvr32 commands we used to have to advise users to try in these
situations:

iexplore /rereg

Actually, an even better combination would be to do that and
the regsvr32 commands listed here: KB831429

Since a real IE Repair is done during a boot when nothing else
can interfere with it I suggest you at least close all IE and OE windows
when you try this.

Good luck
