Javascript Flicker

IE6 SP2 on both of my computers will flicker when rolling over a javascript
effect. For example, if you rollover a link that uses javascript to change
out the picture for another picture, to simulate a rollover, ALL of the
javascript rollover actions go crazy, and the screen (or rather, the browser
window) seems to flicker whenever you rollover a javascript action. The
other browsers don't do this and other computers I've been on don't do this.
Has anyone seen this kind of thing or know what might be causing it?

I have seen it, but I do not find it annoying. You will notice that the
Throbber (the animation in the trhc of IE) stops and starts as you move over
the rollover indicating that the browser is busy downloading the images.
I would presume the fix is to preload the images in the web page scripting.
