In online stores where you have the option of poking on
the picture of the item and getting a larger picture to
pop up, I get nothing.

In the status bar it says Javascript:void(0) I checked
under Internet options, custom level, and made sure
scripting of Java applets was Enabled, but this does not
help. I have uninstalled and reinstalled ie6. I've
added the sites to my list of trusted sites. No luck.

Any ideas out there?

Thanks!

I still can't get the website to work even though friends
can, but all of the testers say that Java is working on
my computer. Gates must have his hand in it somewhere. :-

I can run Bejeweled, and the mind-reading card trick
works, but for instance the Victoria's Secret site does
not allow me to select the "Larger View" of products. I
emailed a friend, and the site works fine on their
computer, so I'm a little confused.

Just some thoughts, do you have a Firewall installed that is blocking java?
Check your firewall settings.

Java and Javascript are totally different things.
All online stores, or just one?

Things to check on your end:

1) Have you disabled active scripting?
Go to Tools on the menu, then Internet
Options, click the Security tab. If you
see a slider on Medium, then you haven't.
If it says Custom Level and there is no slider,
then click the Custome level button, and check
the Scripting section. The three items there,
especially active scripting, should be enabled.

2) Do you have a pop-up blocker? If
so, and a new window is supposed to open and
doesn't, check the pop-up blocker settings.

3) If you're running a virus-scan, check whether
it's blocking scripting.
