Java won't run

okay, this is really working on my nerves, no java apps
will load, when i go to a site where there are some i get
error on page and a red X. I tried lowering the security
on my IE settings and it wont let me go lower than medium
high, when i do switch i get prompted saying it has to be
higher. all the java script stuff is enabled in advanced
settings. I went to java and reloaded java and still
nothing. I also have my LAN settings at auto detect.
I have no clue.

Be aware, however, that after Dec 31, 2007, MS will apparently no longer be
distributing Java or providing any support for Java including security
fixes. See here: http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/java/ so you might want

You can get the Sun Java J2SE RunTimes or SDK here:
http://java.sun.com/downloads/index.html (all versions - select using the
dropdown - I recommend that you don't install any version prior to 1.4.2.06
in order to get a necessary bug fix.)

For the MS Java VM, you may need to install v.3805 or v.3809 prior to
upgrading to v. 3810 if you didn't previously have MS Java v. 3805 or 3809
installed.

Both Java VM's can co-exist on your machine quite nicely. Just select which
one you want to use in Tools|Internet Options|Advanced and restart all IE
browsers. Here, courtesy of Mitch Gallant, MVP Security, is a tiny utility
which allows you to toggle and view status of your current Java VM vendor
associated with IE:

A note from Mitch Gallant:

"One note about the JVM Selector utility: If/when you install a new
version of Sun J2SE, you need to manually select to have Sun JVM as default
JVM for IE (in install), or after install via the JavaPlugin control panel.

for the utility to know about JavaPlugin. After that, the utility should
work properly."

be there system. so ask the site if there having issues.

Its normal on a new version of IE To warn you that you
can't change the setting to medium low and low on
internet zone

the default setting on IE Internet security is medium you
can't change it lower than the medium microsoft
programmed it so people can't change the setting to
medium low and low because inexperience computer user
tend to change setting without the knowing what it does.
Why would you change the security setting anyway?it keep
you protected. if you want medium low and low setting go
to Trusted site and add site that you trust.

It is possible that MS AntiSpyware was allowed to remove a file which was an
essential part of the Java system. Can you check the MS AntiSpyware logs to
see which files it removed?

Did this ever work before you ran MS AntiSpyware?

Which Java system are you using: Microsoft's or Sun's?

Use System Restore to remove the MS Antispyware changes and
Java will return.
