Had a problem with virus/antivirus soft ware and while the SBC tech was
helping me she told me to go to control panel and find the Java plug-ins
icon...there isn't one there. She kept asking , "you have XP?, you're sure
you have XP?"
Should there be a java plug-ins software/icon?
I have a lot of trouble with script reading on sites, get themessage java
isn't enabled (shows that it is in intenet options), script error, etc.
Is something missing?
Thanks, Z

JAVA is an independent application - from Sun. http://java.sun.com/getjava

Install it.

Go to run type:cmd In cmd type:jview If data apears, you have MJVM installed,
thier is an update thru windows update catalog, select windows server 2003,
web edition,MJVM update is the 1st listed, its for XP.

run, type "cmd", OK...opened a window "C:|WINDOWS|ystem32|cmd.exe, contained
"Microsoft Windows XP......" etc.........
???correct result? so I have "java" it just doesn't show as a icon in the
control panel?
Should it?
