Java doesn't work properly

I'm using WinXP and IE 6.0.28, and Java is not working
(the only website with Java that works properly is the MS
one). Following an artcile in KB, I looked for the
option 'JIT Compiler for virtual machine enabled
(requires restart)' in Advanced Tab, but it simply
doesn't exist! What is wrong?
 
Hi Paula,

You updatred Windows XP? That can remove Java VM - see
www.microsoft.com/java.

You'll have to get the Java VM by Sun - java.sun.com.
