We process credit card transactions using a virtual
terminal application that requires downloading a Java
applet for use with the magnetic strip reader. When I
replaced one of our computers the Java applet will not
load. The merchant processor says that this problem is the
result of Microsoft changing IE6 so that Java is
restricted. I checked the security settings and Java was
not disable but was set to high safety. I tried changing
the setting to low but this did not make any difference.
Is the credit card processor right? Has Microsoft locked
out Java? Is there a way around this?
The credit card processor recommends going to netscape
navigator which we will have to do if this cannot be
resolved in IE.
I would appreciate any help provided.
