jAttachments & pictures are changed to .dat file & can't be opened

When attachments & pictures are sent via email, they cannot be opened by
receiver. The items are changed to .dat files. Need to be able to send in
HMTL.

What version of Outlook are you using? If it's OL98 or above you should have
the ability to send HTML mail items

If your recipient is getting a .dat file, that means that you're sending in
Rich Text format, not HTML format. Send in HTML format and the problem will
be solved.
