Janus GRIDEX 2000 ActiveX Control v's Other Grid Controls

We are evaluating the Janus Gridex 2000 control for replacing our existing
SUBFORM 'Datasheet' views in MSACCESS. We have reviewed the Janus sample
database and worked up some prototype systems using the TRIAL version.

In replacing the MSACCESS Bound Sub-Form datasheetviews we are wanting to
improve the look/feel and functionality of our application by using the
Janus grid advanced features (grouping, totalling, sorting, databinding
alternatives, multi row select, odd/even colours, etc, etc..)

We are considering purchasing this control however would be interested in
other peoples comments:-

1. Has anyone else used this control? What issues did you find (Pros/cons)

2. What other controls have people used and what was the reasoning for using
these (i.e. price, functionality, previous experiences, other?)

Any feedback regarding controls would be useful.

Thanks,
WGH.

hi,
we are using GridEx since version 1.6 in both Access and VB. Works fine in
Access, but we are trying to use it ONLY where really necessary (say require
a grouping view, or card view). for most cases in our applications we use
Access datasheet.

Alex,

Thanks for the feedback.

Is there any particular reason for now doing more with the Janus Grid? For
a simple requirement I agree that an access datasheet is more than adequate
and is quick to develop (RAD). Have you had any issues with the grid
control (bugs)? What about support from Janus themselves - is this adequate?

WGH.
