Itunes

I posted here few days ago for recommendations of good sites for music
downloads. Thanks to all who responded. I subsequently downloaded itunes and
purchased an album. It downloaded fine but I cannot burn it to a CD. Itunes
locks up as soon as I hit Burn. I've spent hours trying to figure out some
way to do it. I've imported and exported files until I'm blue. Finally, I
decided to just burn them on good old WMP. I can't even transfer them
because Windows does not recognize the file type of m4p. I looked that up
and it's a protected AAC File. Any suggestions? I guess I'm stuck with this
album I've paid for and it's not even for me. I was doing it as a gift. I
wrote itunes support but haven't heard a word.

Windows XP SP2
AMD Athlon +1700, 223 MB Ram, S3 Graphics ProsavageDDR

What made you go to iTunes? You goofed. Try to get your $ back.
Try Yahoo.com

How unhelpful. There's nothing more wrong with iTunes than any of the
other DRM file sites.

Have your tried burning a slower speeds? I had a problem once with a
Memorex burner that could burn at 52x but an iTunes installation reduced
it to 12x. I'd suggest posting your problem at cdfreaks.com.

If you do a google search you will also find utilities that remove the
DRM from m4p files.

I'd suggest next time (if a person uses iTunes) give them an iTunes
gift certificate or a gift certificate from other download sites.

Looks like you need a rude awakening also!

Trust me, I've been around too long for one of those.

In what way is iTunes WORSE than the other DRM-based sales websites?
Grateful for an elaboration.

In your present state of mind, with limited knowledge of DRM,
I'd just be wasting my time. Have you been reading previous posts
in regards to DRM (Digital Rights Management)? Limited copying,
no copying, cannot convert, will not play many types of players, etc. etc.
etc.!!!
It's the $$$ game and it looks like you've been suckered in.

Yes, of course I've read previous posts. That was why I'm asking you. If
you show me the magic page on yahoo.com that shows that their service
carries no DRM restrictions, you'll make me very happy.

The tracks I've bought from iTunes are those that I wanted that are
unavailable to buy elsewhere. That probably equates to about a dozen.

If I'm unable to buy them elsewhere, how have I been "suckered in"?

iTunes 128Kbps AAC
RealPlayer Music Store 192Kbps AAC

192Kbps > 128Kbps :)

Thanks, Galley, but the accounts I've seen suggest an AAC -> MP3
comparison is subjective.
