I've tried to install Quicktime on a friend's PC only to have the
installation fail when it supposedly finishes and the error
report(send/don't send) dialogue box generated. (sent several with no
reply)
The installation will not uninstall (only iTunes available, no Quick
time) without the same error report box appearing. It also seems
to"knockout " his adsl modem, saying that there is no dial tone. The
only solution is to do a system restore to the time before the
installation.
I have found a reference to this problem and suggests that QT may need a
Java runtime app to proceed which I installed without success.
The PC is a two week old machine running preloaded and activated WXPHome
SP2.
Any help with this gratefully received
