itunes onto win2k

when trying to install itunes on a win2k machine it gets all the way through
the
installation and then just packs up, ive installed it on win xp without any
problems so i cant understand what the trouble is...any pointers?

I upgraded the machine from win 98 to win2k a few weeks beforehand, would
this have any bearing on it not installing? Theres enough memory and no other
problems with the pc.

Help?! I need itunes to be able to download music to my mini ipod!!!!!!

Event logs give you any clues?
Have you checked Apple's support site?
If you have a well-functioning W2k installation on this PC, I can't think
that the fact that you did an upgrade would make a difference, but I'd check
with Apple. I do recommend you purchase their annual support plan - it's
very inexpensive (I think about $50/yr) and gives you tech support as well
as extra hardware/warranty stuff.
