Itunes Install error

Please help, I am unable to install itunes. The installer is on the desktop
and after clicking it to install, it seems to install until the very end,
then this error message appears:

An error occured during the installation of assembly
'microsoft.vc80.CRT,public Key
Token="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="8.0.50727.762"processorArchitecture="x86"
Please refer to help and support for more information. HRESULT: 0x80073712


That is the full message, can anyone help or suggest any actions?
