Brilliant :)

I've been looking around for them, priced at around £3,000.

Was your one expensive to run?

I'll try to learn about maintenance as I go along. My dad's handy with basic maintenance anyway... :D

No, it was very economical.

Big disadvantage was that the heater was pretty much non existant.

It's air cooled and the heat is taken from heat exchangers round the exhaust system then driven by the main fan along a series of tubes to the front cab.

Only trouble is, the heat exchangers rot quite quickly, the tubing crumbles apart and the cables working the various flaps and vents tend to seize up.

Having them repaired is expensive.

So it led to me driving about in winter dressed up for an expedition to the Arctic and with the windows open, so it didn't mist up :D

So, there you go, check that out when purchasing. Also look for rust round the front wheel enclosures, about £300.00 a side to have those replaced.

Did you know you can actually buy a brand new Type two, right hand drive, from Mexico? They're still making them.

With me it's the 'cadburys cars' I don't get
You know... that exact shade of purple...?
Whenever I see one I can't help thinking...
Once upon a time, someone had enough money to buy a NEW car
& they went down to the lot & said...
"That one!!! I'll have that one"
Now that's scary!

PG: Sp what's wrong with British Racing Green? Ever see a D Type Jag kitted out in that colour? Mouth watering :)

haha yes, but on a Ferrari I think it would look rather silly.

Ferraris are show cars. They are not meant to be understated. Especially somethingl ike the enzo. They have to be a bright colour anyway, as light travels faster than sound...so you may have enough time to out the way if it appears in your mirror :D
