It will not play the file....how can i fix it.

Windows media player could not play the file. One or more codecs required to play the file could not be found
 
Hello there,

What file are you trying to play (the exact name would help)?
What version of media player are you using?
Are you connected to the Internet when you get the message that one or more
codecs required to play the file could not be found
Do you have the latest version of DirectX installed?
