it used to auto play

i recently bought a new pc- with windows xp home edition. whenever i put in a
dvd or cd it used to auto play or auto run- know it doesnt for some reason- i
have to go into 'my computer' & click on the dvd/cd drive.... could someone
please help me?
i am reasonably new to computers but know my way around..

1. Open XP's "Help and Support Center".
2. In the Search box type: AUTOPLAY , and hit enter.
3. Click on: "Change how your computer handles multimedia content".
