it takes long to move files

Hi.
My eight month old laptop with WinXP Pro takes a long time to move a
file from one drive to another. When I cut and paste a 700 mb file
from one drive to another it takes more than five minutes to complete
the action. What could be the problem?
I expect a solution from the experts.

Hello,

It is quite normal to take a couple of minutes to move a huge file from one partition to another on
the same physical hard drive. You also mention that you have a laptop machine which means that it
might have a slower (5400 or 4200 RPM) hard drive. I would say that it is normal behavior and
nothing to worry about.
