It hijacks your browser itself

Works fine for me, except that it reset my browser start
page to msn.com.

For God's sake! How stupid is that! this thing is
supposed to protect you from unwelcome intrusions and the
first thign it does is make one itself.

So ... Microsoft Anti-Spyware is making unasked for and
unwelcome changes to my settings. I wonder what else it
is doing behnd the scenes ... ?!

Does not change mine either. You have to go into the
advanced settings to have it change it.

The only system it reset the browser on that I installed it on had positive
hits on some search engine hijackers. Since it found a hijacker, it
apparently assumes your settings have been altered and resets to orginal.
It cannot know what you really want your homepage to be (remember, it may be
altered - think about the variations to test against), so it resets to the
default browser page, msn.

They would have to make a library that would be HUGE of good and bad and
then do a compare. That list would have to be dynamic too. There really
are too many variables to make a determination. The simpliest solution is
reset to default if one of the redirectors or hijacks is present. It
'costs' less to have the user reset it than write a routine and the
supporting database to see if the current homepage is valid.
