It will over-write (update). You may uninstall the previous
version if you want to or have a problem with the update.
To uninstall, shut MSAS down by right clicking on the system
tray icon, then use add/remove software. If you also delete
the C:/windows/programs/Microsoft antispyware folder after
you uninstall the program, the program will install "clean"
and will activate the setup wizard, otherwise it will retain
tour previous settings.

So that's 8 October 2006, then?

By the way, since installing Beta1 it had prompted me to
install two upgrades -- first Beta1, and now Beta1.

Having the build number in the About dialog is good enough,
I suppose, but I don't understand the allergy to branding
something as Beta2, Beta3, and so on. If all the betas are
going to be called "Beta1", the "1" isn't really pulling
its weight, is it? Might as well just call them "Beta".

Beta2 is a real milestone--this designation issue goes well beyond this
individual product. So far, what we've been seeing are called "beta
refresh's" re-issues of the current codebase with fixes applied for some of
the more egregious and problematic issues.

Speaking of which, has anybody done any NewdotNet cleaning with the new
builds? The change to the LSP fix process was one of the most positive
fixes in the new builds., I'd hoped.

When Beta2 appears, it will be crystal clear---you will be able to spot the
differences, I'm sure.
