More spyware popped up after a "deep scan" than before it. What gives?

We like to think we can help around here so if you could provide names of
spyware and what happened we will pummel you with assistance. So things are
trojans and viruses as well as your run of the mill adware. So things don't
want to go away and start fighting back. give us the details and we'll see
what can be done.

WebSearch Toolbar and HuntBar.

Thanks.

Good possibility that you have a downloader trojan. Try
running a virus scan first. You should always do the AV
scan first, then the AS scan. And remeber to always do
them in safe mode so nothing is being downloaded while you
are scanning.

And remember to turn off System Restore before you scan in safe mode, or
else it will just restore itself with a system snap shot.

But again report them through the tool so that MS would
know about them. It will just take longer for MS to
provide a fix on these forms of spyware if nobody uses
the report tool.

MS reads stuff in here all the time - they have to , the reporting tool
doesn't work for some people as noted incessantly in these newsgroups.

My point exactly. If MSAS worked, I wouldn't have to track down and
eradicate the malware myself. What's the point of using it?

Yeah, a lot features you would expect to work are not so reliable it turns
out, which include send spyware reports to Microsoft. This all should be
fixed by beta 2, as I have repeated in this newsgroup probably a 150 times.
