Dear Experts,

I have a windows XP Service Pack 2. I desperately need to install the
Microsoft Loopback adapter and I am following the instructions as
below:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/839013

But after the second last step (Step 10), after I click "Next", I get
a prompt saying "Microsoft loopback adapter did not install. Could
not
find the file specified". Could you please help with this issue? Or
point me to where there might be a log file that would have more
details on the exact cause of the error?

Check for this file:
%windir%\inf\netloop.inf

Looking for "ms loopback adapter" on Google scores over 33,000 "hits".
Among them, they mention TCP/IP must be installed first; also, that other
adapters need to be disabled (or was it uninstalled?).

-Good Luck-

Yippie!!!!

Thanks Script!!! You are the man!!!!!

I did have the netloop.inf, but for some reason, the hardware
installer wasnt able to find it.

Since you pointed out which file it needed, during the install, I said
"Have Disk" for it and I had it look under the %windir%\inf folder.
Then it installed it just fine.

Thanks a bunch!!!!!!
