Issue with Shared directory, MPEG and WMV files?

D

David

I set up a Win2k machine and have a Shared directory with MPEG and
WMV files that I want to stream to another machine. When I attempt to
access them, eg.copy, view with Media Player, etc., I get a "can not
read"" error message. However, when I copy, view, etc. AVI, zip,
mp3, and other files type in the same directory I have no issue.

Is this a digitial rights issue? I can see this on WMV, but not MPEG.
If so, how can I turn this off? I want to keep this video on a single
system and not have to burn to CD, etc.

Thanks

try opening media player, select tools, options, file
types and see if those file types are selected.

also make sure you have the latest version of media player

if that doesn't work, try getting QuickTime, it can play
some things that media player cannot. Heck, winamp can
play more than both of those.
