I have windows xp home sp2. There are only 2 user accounts both admin. How
do I isolate the accounts so shortcuts and installs do not effect each
other. If user 2 installs a program how do you keep the short cuts and
program folder from appearing on user's 1 start menu. Shared access is not
wanted or desired. I don't want to partion the drive and put his account on
a different drive letter. any help would be appreciated. Thank / bob b

That's a function of the installer for the program. Some will ask if you
want it installed for only the current user or for all users. Others just
install. You can't control that. If it's installed for both users just
drag the icon that starts the program out of the all users folder and move
it to the user of choice.

Right click the start button, Explore all users. Find the program icon and
move it to the program folder for the user you want.

Right click on Start.
Explorer
Move the Start Menu shortcuts for the program from All Users to your user 2.
