ISO question

I wanted to make a backup of one of the hardrives in one of my
computers. Can I make an ISO of the whole drive or is that impossible.
Or do I have to go about it a different way. What freeware program will
allow me to do so and how?

OK, a few questions first.
How big is the hard drive, how many partitions are on it, how much free
space?
Does it contain an operating system? If so which one?
What file system is on the hard drive?
Do you have a cdrw or dvdrw drive?
