Island DNS

Seems like everyone has the same question. How to setup
DNS! Well I have a two domain network. An empty root
forest domain, and then one child domain. The dns is
delegated between the two. When we set it up we talked
to Microsoft support via the phone and they recommended
the following:
empty root server #1
ip 216.108.100.1
dns1 216.108.100.1
dns2 216.108.100.2

empty root server #2
ip 216.108.100.2
dns1 216.108.100.2
dns2 216.108.100.1

the two child domain controllers are setup as above. We
have not had any problems, but after installing HP
Openview for Windows it's informing up constantly that we
have our DNS configure wrong and we may have
setup 'island dns's'. My questions are:
1) Since Microsoft helped set this up shouldn't it work
fine? (a little naive maybe, but when you pay money for
support I assume your getting it).
2) Is my setup right or wrong?
3) If I did have island dns problems what would they look
like?

thanks to anyone who can spred some light onto the
situation.

empty root server #1
ip 216.108.100.1
dns1 216.108.100.1
dns2 216.108.100.2

empty root server #2
ip 216.108.100.2
dns1 216.108.100.2
dns2 216.108.100.1

Reverse your entires so they show as:
empty root server #1
ip 216.108.100.1
dns1 216.108.100.2
dns2 216.108.100.1

empty root server #2
ip 216.108.100.2
dns1 216.108.100.1
dns2 216.108.100.2

This config will eliminate a couple issues, including the Island issue
(which was supposedly fixed in SP2).
