how do you get rid of the i search toolbar that is now under the "Address Bar" in my IE Browser?

Here is how to remove isearch from IE on XP:

in regedit search for/remove the following:

deleting the first ones.

I have just downloaded and run Ad-Aware, and it came up with quite a list, most designated Malware or Data Miner, though 4 are Windows, Regdata, Vulnerability.

Can I safely delete all of these from my computer

Probably. If you are worried, don't delete the quarantine file.
