Is XP Pro still scheduled to meet its fate today?

Hmmm, if we can get paramedics, or better yet, Gregg House out to Redmond
today, I wonder if that could prevent the assisted suicide of Win XP Pro
expected today?

Newegg is still listing retail version of Windows XP Pro today.

So would any other retailer that has stock to move off the shelves.

Saw an interesting story on Fox News about a consumer group in the
process of putting together a class action lawsuit against Microsoft for
taking XP off the market.

The focus of the lawsuit is the instability of the Vista operating
system and severe compatiblity issues with mainstream business software.

The story also talked about rumblings from some in congress about
another investigation into Microsoft with regards to Vista issues and
Microsoft's (possibly illegal) pushing of manufacturers to discontinue
support.

Whether it's true or not, there is a HUGE perception of the general
public about how horrible and unstable Vista is.

Sadly Balmer's bullying used to be the stick to Gates' carrot, but with
Gates completely gone now... Microsoft is in for a very rocky next few
years.

...

For publicity, I assume. An actual suit might conceivably
make it into court about the time Vista's replacement is
beginning to look dated.

I am a regular user of yahoo questions & answers,
the amount of people with vista problems on there is endless.

You mean people with no problems are not posting?

How extraordinary.
