Is XP backwards compatible

I was just wondering if XP was backwards compatible as
far as games and such... I know that windows 2000 had
problems with not running games that were made for
windows 98

It is partially compatible. Specific programs can be set
to run in "compatibility mode" - either with win2k,
98-Me, etc. But it's not 100%.
The best thing to do, if you have specific games in mind,
is to check websites / forums devoted to the games themselves.
