OS WIN XP PRO SP2 AND ALL UPDATES
Just went to My Documents to open a file in my "U" folder and saw item that
i have no idea of what it is.
A Folder USMT.TMP containing the subfolders DIR0000.TMP,
DIR0001.TMP, DIR0002.TMP, and USMT2.HN.
A search of Micrsoft was ambiguous. MS site doesn't find any info, but some
of info i found searching the forums might indicate that there are some
window system files containging "USMT" in the path name. But if thisis part
of Win XP why would it be writting a temp file into my documents on my 2nd
physical drive (D)?

I would think those could be removed once the USMT (User Settings
Migration Tool) has finished its duties 100%. Might want to wait to be
sure if someone else can chime in and verify.
