Is this possible to do?

Hello. I am making a gradebook for my class and I amk in
desparate need of help. I have every story test for the
entire school year on the first page of my gradebook with
all of the students' names on it, then on the second sheet
I have a drop down box with a particular student's name
and all of their grades for the year with a vlookup to
grab the grades from the first sheet to the 2nd, the next
three sheets are labeled "1st Trimester" "2nd Trimester",
and "3rd Trimester". I have a column on the second sheet
(the one with all of the students'individual grades" with
all of the scores for the year that is marked "Trimester".
In this column, I am going to type in which trimester the
test was given in. Is there a way to have this column
linked up with the 3 "Trimester" worksheets so if I type
in that a test was in the second trimester, it will
automatically put that test on the "2nd Trimester"
worksheet? I also saw that you can input a calendar on a
worksheet as an object. Is it possible to format a cell to
correspond to the calendar so that if I click on a date on
the calendar, the date that I selected will show up in the
corresponding cell on the worksheet? Thanks for any help!

Look for "Excel popup Calendar" at this site:

Orlando Magalhaes Filho MVP

This addin puts a Calendar menu item on the right click of a cell
Select Calendar
Find date
Click date

Date goes in the active cell.

Only drawback I see is the need to have an Office Suite that includes
Access.

Hi John!

I'll give you better details on the process.

Close Excel

Just click on Orlando's site below:

http://cpap.com.br/orlando/#Calendar

You will then be able to download:

ExcelCalendar.zip

Unzipped it gives you ExcelCalendar.xls

Open that file and you'll see an Install button that will install it.

Open Excel and you'll find that if you select a cell and right click,
you now have the item "Calendar" on the menu.

Click Calendar and up it pops!

You'll find it pretty intuitive in use.

My reference to Access? Orlando's utility uses Access to achieve it's
wonders. You don't get involved with that bit and it is just necessary
that Access is actually on your computer.

All in all it is much better than the Excel calendar in terms of what
you might want to do; find the date, click on it and it gets put into
the cell.
