Is there this kind of Visualization style?

I'm asking if there is the possibility to organize the spaces for messages
in a different way. Now i have a column on the left with my subscribed
newsgroups and mail accounts, a space on top right with mail received and
the remaining space on the bottom right with the text of each mail and news.
Is there the way to divide the screen into 3 different columns so i'll have
newsgroup and mail account on the left, messages received in the middle
column and the text of each message on the right column. Thunderbird and
Entourage does this kind of stuff....
