Cutting, pasting problem

Tracy

I do some work involving cutting and pasting from e-mails and in turn to put
into a listing. So often these e-mails are double and triple spaced and have
vertical bars in the left column. I need to condense these messages but so
often I can't eliminate the bars or reduce the spacing. It is almost as if
there is an invisible barrier around these e-mails. Can you offer a solution
to this problem?

Sounds like you are copying HTML-formatted text.
What type of document are you pasting into? Microsoft Word, after
pasting something in, will give you the option to keep Source Formatting
or use Destination Formatting. The latter is what you want.
Another option, do a Google search on "html to text converter" and you
will get lots of shareware/freeware hits.

I am actually cut and pasting information from several e-mail into a new
e-mail that I will be forwarding to someone else.
This is when, all of a sudden when I paste something from a particular
e-mail is when I get something that looks differenct. Cannot change font
size, underline, color or whatever it happens to be, for the purpose of
making the e-mail look uniform throughout.
Thanks fo your help.

I sympathize with you, because I too find that editing a HTML-formatted
email is frustrating. Because of that, I seldom use HTML, preferring
to do composing in plain text. Sorry, I don't have any fixes to pass on.
